She is actively involved in the Middlesex Education Association, and has held the positions of building representative and most recently, Secretary.
She served as advisor to the class of 2006 and the Chess Club and, as advisor to the National Honor Society for 10 years. Nadine has organized numerous fundraisers to assist Middlesex families dealing with catastrophic illnesses, as well as hosting the annual Memorial Day Assembly at the high school to honor our veterans, complete with a welcome home salute by Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Welcome Home Committee.
With Nadine as their Girl Scout leader, Trop 60509 volunteered for numerous community service activities, including Family and Fun Day, Tree Lighting, Caroling for Can, and SHIP, and recently bridged to Adult members, with three of the girls earning the Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouts. Nadine has lived in Middlesex since 1992 with her husband Alan and children, Daniel, Alaina, and Megan, a special needs child and past Elks Child of the Year. The entire family believes in giving bac to the community: together they assisted Daniel in painting the American Legion kitchen and fixing the pavilion as his Eagle Scout project, and they helped Megan sell “Dog Biscuits” to raise money for animal shelter. Through a partnership with the Elks and the Middlesex Recreation Department, Nadine’s daughter, Alaina, earned her Gold Award by establishing “Buddy Ball”, a recreational sports program for Special Needs Children, and, of course, the entire family assisted.
A recent member of the Elks, Nadine volunteered to be the Chairperson for Youth Activities, responsible for Student of the Month, Youth Week, Youth Awards Night and the Christmas Party.
The Chemey family has dedicated themselves to the betterment of Middlesex Borough, and the Lodge thanks them and congratulates Nadine as our Citizen of the Year.
